Finding the Right Barn Door
Follow these basic principles to find the perfect barn door hardware.

Start with your door opening

Start with your door opening
Measure the width and height of the opening.
The barn door you choose should be slightly larger than the opening, so you’ll want to add 2”- 4”to completely cover the frame.
PRO TIP:
If your door has a trim, be sure to measure the width of the door to the edges of trim.

Check Your Wall Space
Taking the width of your door frame, measure out the length on the adjacent wall (right or left).
Double barn doors require clearance on both sides.
PRO TIP:
Doors must be able to fully open without disruptions from objects such as light switches or other immoveable objects.

Safety First!
Standard doors weigh anywhere between 25 – 90 pounds.
Note the weight of the door you are using to ensure the hardware meets the single door weight specifications.
PRO TIP:
Adding a header board behind the track increases weight stability of the door.

Select Your Hardware
Take your ideal barn door width and multiply that by two. This number will be your ideal track length.
